Our Story

Amana LLC was not created because I wanted to follow a trend or add another hair product to an already crowded market. It was created because I was a mother searching for answers for my daughter when nothing else seemed to work.

My daughter’s hair journey began around 2019. At first, the changes were small enough that I hoped they were temporary. I noticed thinning in certain areas, uneven growth, and patches that did not look normal. Like many mothers, I tried to stay calm and tell myself that maybe her hair would fill back in with time, but the more I watched it, the more I knew something deeper was going on.

Over time, the hair loss became harder to ignore. Some parts of her hair would grow while other areas remained thin or patchy. One side would look longer while another side looked shorter. There were areas where the hair was barely growing at all. It became frustrating, emotional, and confusing because I did not know what was causing it or what would truly help.

We did what we were supposed to do. We went to doctors. We received referrals. We saw dermatology. We tried prescribed treatments, creams, and scalp solutions. Her medical visits included discussions about hair loss conditions such as diffuse alopecia areata and telogen effluvium. Treatment options such as topical corticosteroids, mometasone, minoxidil, and follow-up care were discussed. We followed medical advice and tried to be patient, but even with those steps, we still did not feel like we had found a lasting answer.

At the same time, I also tried natural hair growth products from other brands. I tried oils, creams, and different remedies that people recommended. I wanted so badly for something to work, but nothing gave us the consistent results I was hoping for.

I even tried making my own hair oil during the early part of the journey. I made a first batch with the hope that maybe something natural and homemade would help, but it did not work the way I wanted it to. That was discouraging, so I stepped away from it for a while.

By 2021, the situation had become even more difficult. During our trip to Nigeria, my daughter’s hair was so uneven and patchy that we made the hard decision to shave it completely. It was not something I wanted to do, but it was necessary to start over. Some parts were long, some parts were short, and some areas had very little hair at all. As a mother, that moment stays with you.

For many families, especially in African cultures, a girl’s hair carries meaning. It is tied to beauty, confidence, care, and identity. My daughter is my only daughter, my princess, and watching her go through that made me more determined to find something that would truly help her.

In 2023, I reached a point where I said we had to figure something out. I did not want to keep trying products blindly or hoping the next one would work. I wanted to understand hair, scalp health, breakage, moisture, and the role that herbs and oils could play when used with intention. I began studying traditional herbal care, Ayurvedic ingredients, and natural oils that have been used for generations. This time, I was learning, testing, and paying attention.

The process took patience. It took trial and error. It took failed batches and constant adjustments. Slowly, I began creating something different. By October 2023, I made a formula that finally began showing the kind of progress we had been praying for. It was not overnight, but it was real.

Over time, my daughter’s hair began to fill in, strengthen, and retain length. From struggling with little to no consistent growth, her hair is now reaching her shoulders. That transformation is what Amana LLC was built on.

What started with her did not stop with her. My other children began using it. My sons use it. My husband uses it. And slowly, others began to try it as well.

Customers across the United States started using our products and sharing their experiences. The feedback has been overwhelming in the best way. People who felt like they had tried everything began to see progress, and that is reflected in the reviews we have received.

At one point, we were also selling our product journey on TikTok, where we built a community with over one hundred reviews and testimonials. Although the shop  is no longer active, we made sure to carry over as many of those real experiences and results as possible, because that journey is part of this brand as well.

Amana means trust, and that name matters. This brand was built from real experiences, real frustration, real effort, and real results. It was built from not giving up, even when nothing seemed to work.

Our tagline, From Soil to Soul, reflects what we believe. We believe in ingredients that come from the earth, routines made with intention, and care that goes beyond the surface.

If you are here, you are part of this journey now. Whether you are dealing with shedding, thinning, dryness, or simply trying to build a healthier routine, we are glad you are here.

Thank you for trusting us and for allowing Amana to be a part of your hair care journey.
